have you ever?
well last night 8 of my good friends went hot tubing when it was like thirty-five degrees out and it even sleeted for a little bit. We wrapped up our spring breaks by doing this and then watching old school and playing an entirely too competitive game of halo. The girls were entirely too cocky for losing by 37...lol. Well now today its back to the books and classes so i guess I might as well look at it with a positive attitude and get it over with so summer can get underway.

is it still called spring break if?....
So spring break is now coming to an end and i am ready to pound out this last half of semester and get to sweet sweet summertime. So while many were off visiting home or relaxing on the beach I was in a far different situation. I worked a 50 hour week pouring concrete instead. It was really stressful at first because there was so much i didn't know how to do but by the end of the week things began going much smoother. Although i didn't get to relax a whole lot I got to make money while alot of people i know where spending it and that always makes me feel a little accomplished at the end of the day. I also spent a couple of great nights with all my good friends partying and catching up on old times. All in all i am happy about my spring break and hope that the time away from school helps me refocus and not draw me away by thinking about summertime.

awkward situation...
So today is Sunday and this morning I had to visit a religious gathering that was different than mine for my religion class. I will not go into the specific religion that i attended out of respect but I will say that it was an interesting, and very awkward experience. Since birth, I have been raised Baptist and now attend a evangelical church in Fort Wayne called Blackhawk.
In this religion I visited, many of the beliefs were much different from my own. I was also uncomfortable because because me and the friends I was attending this place were kind of alienated. It is not that we were treated badly just differently and it sometimes felt as if we were being interrogated on why we were there and whether we would want to attend full time.
After this unideal experience, I am to happy to have at least obtained concrete information straight from the source. I am looking on the bright side of things though because I know that it will be very easy to write a paper on this event. This event will also make appreciate my home church that much more next Sunday.

in over my head
So i am usually a pretty realistic person. I don't play the lotto, and sadly know i will probably never be famous for anything. There are certain times however, that I do not think things through and dive into a project that is a little bit over my head. There was the time when my cousins and I were convinced we had the skills to construct a tree house on our own. The final result was a glorified pile of wood. Then when i was sixteen i talked myself into thinking i could successfully bondo the body damage on the truck i had just bought. The right side today is now wavy and distorted as a result but i still love it... I believe it gives it character, or at least thats the story I am sticking to.

Not all these monumental projects turn out in failure though. Just last summer I had the house all two myself for two full weeks. I rented a skid loader and after two full weeks of work and plenty of red bulls later my motorcross track was born. I also fixed the driveway as well in attempt to make my mom feel better that tons of the dirt in her backyard had been moved while she was away. heres some pics of that
So staying on that topic my latest project is to tear my four wheeler down and powercoat the rims, front end, and swingarm all glossy black. I think that this will give it a really cool and unique look. Here is a pic of my progress so far....
So as you can see I got a lot of work to do. Once i get the front end together i gotta take the entire back end apart and do all that and put racing sprockets on it. There are times when i look at all the work that has to be done and just want to give up. Then I think about how great it will look when I am done and my brother comes home to help out and i am motivated all over again. I will keep everyone updated on how it goes and will put up pics when its finished in about a month. Well that is all for now so goodnight!

Don't forget
So it is late and I am beat. Today was my sister's fourteenth birthday so we went to early service to get home early and start cleaning and cooking. I helped make my mom's giant enchiladas while she was busy making the turtle cake. My entire family was there and we just ate, talked and played some very intense games of guitar hero. I think like me, any college student can get lost in the madness that occurs test to test and paper to paper. I just think it is kind of important to take time to step away from it sometimes and spend time with the people that has always been there for you. We get so use to questioning everything in the world around us and trying to solve the great mysteries of life that we sometimes forget about the tangibles. This includes relationships, the accomplishment of a hard day's work, and the joy of humor. With this I would just like to remind all of you that there is alot of life beyond critical thinking and textbooks and to not to take for granted the simple joys of life. "Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life."

all sports post
So I am not going to spend much time about it but last weekend was the NBA All-Star game and there were basically two things that stuck out in my mind about all star weekend. The first was that I was frustrated Lebron James didn't enter the dunk competition after originally saying that he would. He has some of the most powerful in-game dunks I just wish he could show us what he could do in a controlled setting for once. The second is the venue in which it was in. I am a big Dallas Cowboys fan but I may be even a bigger fan of their billion dollar stadium. Just imagine how awesome it would have been to be at that game and feel the energy of over 100,000 fans with that gigantic big screen TV that spans from twenty yard line to twenty yard line.
So switching it up now but still staying on sports, the Winter Olympics started this past week. Things quickly took a turn for the worst when a Georgian luger was killed when he clew off the track and hit a unpadded pole at a speed of nearly 90 mph says msnsports.com. They went on to say that neither the Olympic committee or the luge administration would take blame and said it was the luger's fault. I find this to be pretty ridiculous. both organizations are there to ensure the safety of all the athletes and they failed and now they won't even hold themselves accountable.
On a much better note Shaun White took another gold medal for the mens halfpipe with his new trick the 1260 double mctwist. Here is a video to check it out its pretty killer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CHUMoFcZgJ0
The USA also leads the medal race with 6 gold medals and 22 total medals. Well thats all for now. I will post about more tomorrow but there has been so much going on with sports lately that I felt i should all just get it out of the way in one blog. Later

ch ch ch changes
hey there its me and I came up with some good topics to cover and thought i would share them with you.
So I am a big sports fan so thats what i am going to start things out with. I was happy to see the saints win the super bowl this past weekend because i am a big Drew Brees fan but i don't know if there is a more respectable quarterback in the league than Payton Manning. But lets get down to what we all really like to talk about which is the superbowl commercials. I would love to hear your comments on which was your favorite but for now I am going to insert a youtube link to with two of my favorite.
So first off summer will be here in just a few short months so sadly, i find myself needing to get back in shape. So I started the p90x workout and diet program and it is pretty interesting. There are alot of things involved that I have never done before so that keeps things a little more exciting than going to the gym normaly would be. If you guys are interested here is the link to the program's website and I will post updates on whether the results turn out being as good as advertised. For the website click here. http://www.beachbody.com/product/fitness_programs/p90x.do?gclid=CLS6u_mo7p8CFRMhDQodHA8hYg&code=GOOGLE_SEMB_P90X&ef_id=1908:3:s_34a1a687927e7a424f51fbb36de1a715_3894887803:S3YVWEo-JyoAACDyCzwAAACA:20100213025832
So in other news i was shocked to find out just what college has done to two of my longtime friends. First, you have to know the backstory on these two. They both had 4.0's and were always home by 10 o clock even as seniors. They were seen as model citizens, students, and peers. So you could imagine my surprise when they were both caught for drinking on campus last weekend. Now I don't condone such actions by any means but at the same time i couldn't help but laugh a little. These guys are great people and I can't help but be happy that they are finally able to go out and experience a whole new world even if that means getting in a little bit of trouble. I think that even though this was a bad circumstance it is a good way of showing that changes do certainly occur during college and that you are given a whole new amount of freedom, even if it leads to parallel consequences.
In much more somber news its been reported on msn.com that a alabama biology professor opened fire on faculty today. Three were killed and another three were injured. For the full story click here. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35372168/ns/us_news-crime_and_courts. This is really concerning to me personally because it adds a whole new element to the school shooting setting that we aren't use to. Instead of student causing the harm it was instead a professor this time. These are suppose to be the people that watch over us so it is no doubt a bit of a scary though when one is responsible for a violent act like this.
Well thats about all the material i have for you guys for tonight. until next time comment on whatever you like and feel free to make suggestions. Take care and stay classy
